Professor Sarah Wisseman

Archaeologist Sarah Wisseman studies ancient pottery, stone figurines, and mummies using techniques borrowed from physics, chemistry, geology, and medicine. She directs the Program on Ancient Technologies and Archaeological Materials, a division of the Illinois Transportation Archaeological Research Program, and teaches in the Campus Honors Program. Dr. Wisseman received her B.A. in Anthropology at Harvard University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology at Bryn Mawr College.
